Frozen earth,

Blanket of peace,

Nurture the seed, the sleeping root.

Graceful geese

In perfect flight

Flop and skid on the freezing lake.

Icicles sing

Their glasslike song

Breaking in the morning sun.

Landscape of snow,

The crystal stars

Illumining the frozen night.
